Danny Baxter was a man who had almost everything, he had fame and fortune and all the girls he ever wanted. If he didn't have it he could certainly get it, thanks to his rather unique ability to convince people of anything just by winking. He didn't know how long he had this power for but he did remember he often got his childhood friends into trouble when he suggested they do some crazy thing sarcastically and ended it with a wink. Even as a kid he abused this power to its fullest by getting himself a staring role in an action movie where New York was overrun by aliens, even though he didn't know how to act. That movie was the worst film he had ever seen but the people loved it and him because he told them to.

After that terrible experience of being in a movie, it was a lot less fun than he thought it would be, he wanted to quit acting. He was a beloved childhood star though and people wanted to cast him in more roles. This is when he learnt the best use of his power, when his agent asked him to do a movie he told the producers that he didn't want to do it but suggested they paid him as if he did. After that Danny never worked another day in his life, he even convinced his parents that he didn't need to go to school.

Since then life has been one non stop party. Whenever he wanted something he'd convince the person who had it that it was his or that he had paid for it or that he should be given it. Any girl he wanted to date or just have sex with, he'd convince them that they wanted to. Of course that did lead to the unwanted pregnancies and he was never ready to be a dad so he'd convince them that they were still a virgin and it was a miracle baby or that someone else was the father. He wasn't sure how many kids he had and he was only twenty.

It got boring sometimes, being able to get anyone he wanted with his powers that sometimes he'd play games with some of the more high profile dates he had. His favourite was making an actress think she was the character she played in the movies. He'd also convince them to do wild things, like shave their hair off or that they swapped bodies with another person. The other night he even tipped a pizza delivery guy with an A list celebrity as a girlfriend just because he was bored.

He never got into any trouble for this behaviour as he always convinced their partners or press that everything was okay. Sometimes he'd make them forget or not care about the situation, other times he broke them up. To Danny the world was a game and he had the ultimate cheat code. Though he would often tire of things and change things up for more fun.

It was one of these moments that he made the biggest mistake of his life. He was attending a red carpet event for a movie he wasn't even in and one of the interviewers recognized him from his first and only film. She decided to ask him some questions about it as a remake was in the works. He decided to play along and with a wink, he told her that the remake was able to happen as the aliens had returned and were currently infesting New York as they spoke. What Danny didn't realize was a camera caught him saying that and his magical wink.

The interviewer panicked like Danny knew she would, laughing at her for looking like a nutcase, reporting on something that was a hoax. Although it was a hoax, it had already gone further than he had expected as the President happened to be watching the red carpet premier. Believing this was real and showing his top generals the source of information, to be Danny's Wink the Pentagon was in agreement. To save humanity from this alien menace New York City would have to be wiped off the face of the Earth.

Danny's life had changed after that, he was able to convince everyone it was an accident and he didn't mean to have New York City destroyed. It was even in the paper, 'Former Child Actor Accidentally Destroys New York City Using Power to Convince Anyone of Anything While Winking'. The world accepted that he didn't mean to cause alarm and that it was truly an accident and so the blame went to the President instead. Still every morning Danny would look at himself in the mirror and utter the words, 'It was an accident, it's not your fault' while winking. A shame his power never worked on himself.
