Ryan woke up in the box that had been his home since Samantha turned him into a chicken two days prior. "Bawk... bawk... bawka!" He clucked as he felt pressure building in the rear. It was rather painful and felt similar to doing an enormous number 2 in the toilet. He squawked in pain as he laid the tiny egg. This was so humiliating and all because he didn't want to do some stupid horror challenge.
'Wait...' he realized. 'This isn't right. I shouldn't still be a chicken. It's the first of October. Ester signed me up...'
"Bawk... Bawk... Bawk..." Ryan heard another chicken clucking on the other side of the box.
'No... she didn't... she was fine just yesterday.'
'No... she didn't... she was fine just yesterday.'
Their was a knock at the door. "Ester... Ryan...? Were you changed back?" Ruby asked. The door then opened slightly. "Ester?" Ruby opened the door wider and walked over to Ryan's box. "Tammy! They're still chickens!"
Tammy walked into the room and looked down, at Ryan shaking her head. "Of course they are, Samantha said they'd only get turned back if they entered the challenge." She then reached down and grabbed Ryan. "Why did you do it? After what happened to Ryan you knew this was going to happen. Why did you return to Samantha and cancel the challenge?"
'No this isn't right... It'd October first, it's the first day of the challenge.' Ryan kept telling himself even though the clock next to Ester's bed said it was now November. Tammy also seemed to think he was Ester.
"She didn't want to go through all the horrible things we just went through and couldn't handle the thought of being murdered or being a murderer. She also wanted a simpler life, one where she didn't need to worry about money or anything. I'm not sure why she pulled Ryan out of the challenge too, I guess it's because he wasn't going to enter it without her or because he was classified as her pet he couldn't participate without her," Ruby explained as she petted Ryan.
"You'd know after all you're the one who drove her back to that house. I just wish we could've made a family decision before she decided to get turned into a chicken," Tammy said as she put Ryan back in the box.
"It's her life and after what we experienced being a chicken does sound like it was the better alternative. Poor Ryan though he didn't really get a say in this."
"Ryan's the reason we're in this mess. If he didn't open his big mouth we could've gotten away from that house without signing up and our humanity intact. As far as I'm concerned good riddance to him," Tammy kicked the box Ester was in causing her to squawk. "He can't even lay an egg right... I'm starving and because we haven't been able to go shopping or work for the last month there's nothing to eat."
Ruby looked down at Ester with a hunger in her eyes. "I wouldn't say nothing..."
"Ruby! We can't!" Tammy protested, pulling her sister away from the box.

"Why not? He's a chicken, unlike Ester he didn't chose to become a chicken, we'll just be putting him out of his misery," Ruby took a step forward to the box again.
Ester and Ryan began to cluck in protest as they ran around the box.
"He doesn't want to be eaten and Ester doesn't want him to either," Tammy said pointing towards Ryan.
"He doesn't want to be eaten and Ester doesn't want him to either," Tammy said pointing towards Ryan.
"Those kids we ate didn't want to be eaten either, yet we couldn't stop ourselves there. Besides Ester doesn't get a vote anymore, she's out pet not our sister. That's the consequences of choosing this life," Ruby reached in and grabbed Ester, who was now flailing in her hands.
"That wasn't real... this is!" Tammy tried to snatch Ester from Ruby's arms.
"It was real enough! I mean we knew those kids, we've babysat those kids and we were forced to eat them and we enjoyed it. Ryan's not human any more, he's lower on the food chain and as you said we don't have any food. I mean not eating Ester, I get that she was our sister but Ryan, we don't owe anything to him."
"Fine... but I'm doing it. You're a terrible cook." Tammy took Ester from Ruby and restrained her as she left the room.
Ryan was clucking and squawking pleading for Ester's life as he tried to get out of the box. "I'm sorry Ester but this is the life you chose..." Ruby began but then noticed something wrong with the boxes. "Wait... this is the box I put Ester in." She pointed to the Empty box. "That means Tammy grabbed the wrong chicken." Ruby ran out of the room and chased down Tammy. "Tammy wait I think you grabbed Ester by mistake!"
Ryan could still hear Ester's protests before a loud thud that silenced her.
"You couldn't have told me that two seconds ago? I just killed her!" Tammy's voice was more annoyed than anything. "Well it's too late now. It's not my fault they looked identical."

It was too late, Ester was to be eaten in Ryan's stead.
"Well if this was Ester, we don't need the other chicken. May as well put him out of his misery as well. Make yourself useful and start prepping her."
A minute later Tammy reentered the room, and pulled Ryan out of the box. He tried to escape and managed to escape from her arms. He ran as fast as he could but all the doors were shut, except for the back door and he proceeded to make his escape. He paused for a second when he saw Ruby holding Ester's headless body watching a video on how to pluck a chicken. There was no sorrow in her eyes and she acted like they hadn't just killed their sister.
"Come here you little shit!" Tammy grabbed Ryan from behind. "Ester didn't get to live so neither do you!" Tammy then brought him over to the bench she used to kill Ester. Ester's chicken head was still there lifeless and so was the bloody garden hatchet. Tammy pinned Ryan to the bench, making sure his neck was exposed as she brought the hatchet down.
