A dark caption.
Alex stood there, motionless as he came to grips with what he was experiencing. He didn't want to move. He didn't want to look down. Despite his face appearing calm, it just hid everything that was going through his brain at the moment.
Which, he thought with an internal laugh, was the only part of him around anymore. His body was incinerated, he was told, along with the brain of Marylin, that sexy, lively woman he had been seeing for the last several months. That woman that he knew was still married.
He didn't even need to learn that through investigation. Her husband actually found him and told him to stop seeing her. Alex laughed in the bastard's face. He didn't appreciate her, he didn't treat her like Alex did. Then, he smiled at the middle-aged asshole and asked him what he was going to do about it?
The man smiled, then laid it out, in detail. A brain transplant. Make sure she's gone and make sure everyone think that Marylin is still around by having him take her place.
Alex walked away and just shook his head. When the hell did people go from real threats to whatever gibbering bullshit that was? Was his own brain twitching the fuck out?
As he stood there, he realized that none of it was a lie, that he meant every single word of it and that was a plan he had carefully and meticulously set up.
"He really did it." Alex said in Marylin's voice. His voice cracked and he started to tear up. "My god, he really did it!"
