Dr. Ajay Devi stood in the classroom waiting, his impatience growing with each passing minute. He started to tap his foot, making sure to tap with the toe of his boot rather than the heel. He had no desire to make much in the way of noise, and he found that sound distracting.

After a few more minutes, during which time he almost left, a tall, bald, elderly and heavyset man in a nice suit came into the classroom. He smiled politely and greeted Dr. Devi.

"Hello, Doctor Devi, I am Dean Arnold Sampson of the medical college. I do apologize for keeping you waiting. A last-minute issue."

"Hello, Dean Sampson." Dr. Devi said politely. "Is it an issue I need to be apprised of?"

"Ah, yes, I was going to get to that. See, the university, they were very unsure about this research. We showed them your credentials, your papers, but somehow they were unconvinced of your, uh, expertise in such an unorthodox field."

"I do understand that neuroscience is not very well understood at the present time." Dr. Devi said. "But I do think that with me here and the resources of your staff and the university this program could be a premiere area of research."

"Or," Dr. Devi said, thinking. "Do they not question the potential? Do they instead question if I am the one to lead it?"

"I must be honest here, they question both."

At that, Dr. Devi folded his arms and frowned. He wasn't angry, but he was concerned that he might be wasting his time here.

"Well, as for the actual science and its potential, I have read the research papers submitted from here. I am convinced you can persuade them of the value on that basis alone. As for my expertise, I have noticed you have no spoken about my appearance."

"I was going to get to that, but I have a feeling you are about to right now."

"Yes, indeed I am. So, this is quite obviously not my original body. The techniques and methods that allowed my head to be surgically attached to her body are from my own research and my own team. My head being on this body is, I feel, a resume all of its own, both for myself and the staff I wish to bring on."

"Now, since I believe I have sufficiently answered your question about expertise, tell me, will you help make that a reality? Or should I find another university that understands the groundbreaking nature of my research?"
