Hunter kept his face calm, his smile nothing more than a mask as his brain, his own original part left, did it's best to make sense of all of this.

This was Mrs. Laffer, wasn't it? He had seen her around, the mother someone he knew from high school. They graduated at the same time, right? Yeah, five years ago. God, that seemed like ages ago, what with college and now work... damn it, focus, Hunter!

He kept walking, hearing each step on the brick street of the old section of town loud around him, each an effort of coordination he had never felt walking before. So this is what heels are like? Fuck, why bother? Of course, woman did look so good in them, but what the hell does that matter now, I'm a woman now!

How old is she? I think I remember Laura saying her mom was thirty when she was born. I think. God, now I wished I talked to her more, I'd at least have something to go on. I think it was thirty. So, that makes her, what, fifty-three at least? Maybe fifty-four. I think fifty-four, for some reason I think it is fifty-four. God, does it matter if it's one of the other? I'm a damn woman now, and thirty-plus years older!

She has a husband, doesn't she? Yeah, Mrs. Laffer. Oh no, will he believe me? Should I pretend I'm her? No, that'd last for what, about a minute, and that's only if he doesn't immediately see the fucking staples in my, no her, no, my head!

It feels so weird walking like this. I had no idea pantyhose felt this way. It's not too bad, I guess, but these heels, I hate these damn things! I want to take them off... take them off, oh no, oh no no no no, I'm going to deal with everything else. No, I can't think of all of that right now, I just can't. Just get to her home and go from there.

Wait, so if my brain is twenty-three and my body is fifty-three, what does that make me? My brain's age? My body's age? Both?

Wait, who cares right now? Just get to her house first. You can worry about the rest later. Just get her, or your ass home!
