A dark caption.

Trisha looked both ways and seeing the street was empty, she walked across, her heels loud on the sidewalk and street. She got onto the sidewalk across the street and walked right up to the him.

Pauly had been the only neighbor she seemed to not get along with. There was something about him, it was almost like he was proud of being strange. His behavior was erratic, his speech unusual, and most of the neighbors seemed to avoid him. She did as well, but she seemed one of the few that had little tolerance for his nonsense and called him out for it. That only seemed to amuse him, and that infuriated her.

"Ohhhh, I see you've come out of your castle!" He called out, laughing as he did. "All high and mighty to come berate a peasant!"

"God, Pauly, what the hell do you want? I don't have time for this today." She said.

"No, it looks like you're going out somewhere nice! A very nice outfit, if I do say so myself! A very nice..."

His eyes grew wide, and he started to sputter. Trisha's eyes went wide and she saw him clutch his chest. She had her phone in her left hand and she called an ambulance. She didn't like him, but she didn't wish him any harm. She didn't try and render aid. She had no idea what aid to render and besides, despite what she was seeing, she still didn't trust Pauly.

The ambulance got here and two men got out, a young, fit driver judging by his build and arms and wearing a surgical mask then an older paramedic who looked like he was close to retirement. She pointed to Pauly and saw them load him into the ambulance. As they did, she looked over at the paramedic with the surgical mask and noticed under the mask and cap his eyes and cheeks seemed quite old and lean, a stark contrast to his muscular, mid-twenties physique. She didn't say a thing though, just an odd thing, and she didn't really care about it. Pauly was going to get the care he needed, and she had things to do. So, she turned to go.

She was injected with a sedative and in the ambulance so fast she didn't even have time to process it. Pauly then smiled and sat up.

"Surprised?" He asked. "Did you really think that was me? All a show, a comical character, something I play to divert suspicion from my true activities. Which you are now a part of."

By the time he was done talking, she was being pulled onto the gurney as he Pauly climbed off.

"Good night, Trisha. Oh, don't worry, those two feet will walk out of here in a couple of hours. I promise that."

Eli walked back to his house the last few steps, his house a bit more isolated that most in his neighborhood. He stretched his legs and his walk was almost runway-like, his movement surprisingly natural given he had that body for less than thirty minutes.

He looked at Pauly and the other 'paramedic', a man of a similar age whose head had been stitched onto the body of an amateur bodybuilder just a few days prior. Both Eli and the other paramedic were very happy with their current bodies. Eli himself could not wait to go inside and see more of his new body.

He heard a beep and he saw the ambulance lights go on and they turned to drive off like they had a call to go to. He smiled and walked into his house. They'd be busy handling his body and what was left of her, and he'd be busy as well with most of her!
