This one is pretty dark.

Joseph was sure he was going to die. He doubted his ambulance ride would be worth it at all. He could feel it, the final one, the last heart attack. This would be his third, and he was sure it would be his last. Look at them, they weren't even really doing anything. They knew, but what could they do but take him to the hospital and have him meet his fate?

As he was contemplating the end of his life, he felt the vehicle stop. At first, he thought they had to stop for traffic (despite it being an ambulance) but no, they had stopped and parked. He knew it was farther to the hospital than that. Oh great, they weren't even bothering to take him, was that it? Is that what the plan was?

The ambulance door then opened up, and the paramedics brought a woman into the ambulance. They stood him up and set him down on a bench chair and buckled him up, then put her down on the gurney. She was then strapped down and he thought maybe they were doing this as a precaution, that she had taken something that could hype her up, though at the moment she didn't seem to be posing much of a threat, her eyes closed and her seemingly unconscious.

He did wonder why they were both in the same ambulance though. Wasn't taking two patients something they shouldn't do? Or was this an exceptional case?

The two paramedics were soon joined by a third person, who looked to be more like a doctor. As the paramedics put what looked like a neck brace on him and then a similar one on her, the doctor was checking something on his smartphone.

"So, Joseph, this is your lucky day. I..."

As he was talking, the woman woke up, and tried to look around, her eyes wide. He smiled, took out a syringe, and injected her with it, and she calmed down immediately, her eyes fluttering and then closing again.

"Make sure to get rid of the rest." He said as he took another syringe out and injected Joseph as well. Joseph winced, and was unconscious seconds later.

The first few minutes upon waking were a blur, partly due to the shock of it all and partly due to coming out of sedation. It was only when he left and he saw the paramedics and doctor get in and drive away did he really start to come to terms with what had happened.

He knew that this body belonged to the woman who was in the ambulance with him. Likely she was just grabbed, though he had no true way of knowing that for sure. He also knew that they had meant to do this They wanted to stitch the head of someone onto the body of someone else. He wondered if he was targeted but he doubted it, likely it was just an opportunity as well. He also could guess that the woman, even if her head was attached to his body, was probably dead. He had been having an serious heart attack, after all. He had no illusions of her being alive.

All he knew now was that from the neck down he was an attractive woman in a skirt and boots, and he didn't know if he should be overjoyed or distraught beyond reasoning. He just didn't know.
