A little dark.
Mrs. Jean Carmichael walked with a model's grace, her movements practiced, her posture perfect and her footing sure. She had been building up to this day, two years of smaller shoots, short contracts, and limited exposure all for this, a chance at something bigger.
Her photographer was great and he was very pleased with how the shoot was going. They wanted to use the city, no controlled backdrop, just the living, breathing city all raw and real to contrast with her perfectly done-up appearance and brand-new clothes.
For the last bit of it, they decided on a construction site. It bothered him more than her, she having no problems with walks or poses even as the noise and the activity seemed to distract him a little. However, he quickly got it sorted and put out a number of great pics. He was convinced halfway through this last part she'd hit it big with this.
About three-quarters of the way through their time, a yell was heard. She was so used to ignoring the sounds of the site she didn't realize it was directed at her until it was far too late. It was a sharp, rounded piece of metal that had sheared off and was coming down at an angle, right at her head...
Francis still could not believe his luck. The experiment he was a part of had finally called him and bid him come quickly to their facility. They had finally gotten a donor body. He drove there quickly, and he was prepped and ready. He was unconscious when she was rolled in, still alive but her brain effectively non-existent. The team worked quickly and not more than two hours later he was up.
"So, the surgery went very well. No complications, no worries. We'll keep you overnight for observation and you do need to comply with the procedures you've agreed to when you volunteered for this procedure. Do you understand?"
"Perfectly." He said with a smile. He then stood up, picked up her blazer, and smiled at the doctor.
"Show me to my room. Is my phone there?"
"Yes, along with your other belongings. Oh, and you can have visitors still. You may want them to bring you a fresh set of clothes for the morning."
"Yes, good idea. I have a friend, she'll be happy to do that. Oh, what are my sizes?"
"Written down on a paper in on the end stand in your room. You seem to be very happy with our new surgery."
"I was one of the volunteers for the between genders part of this, so, yes, I am completely thrilled. Anyway, I have a bit to do, and I don't doubt you do as well. Lead the way."
