This one is pretty damn dark.

Danielle was walking with a spring in her step, her pace bolstered by her feeling of purpose. At least, that was what anyone would think seeing her walk by, her gaze fixed forward, her focus purely on the conversation. The fact was that she was just talking about a get-together that wasn't for a couple of weeks just between her and four other women.

She was talking quickly, all her mind seemingly on her plans and her conversation and nothing about her surroundings or the people around her. That got her into trouble a couple of times, nearly running into people and once nearly missing that she was at a crosswalk and two more steps would mean being hit by an SUV. Still, this didn't deter her and she kept walking, kept talking, right until she meandered a bit too close to a door when she was walking around some people and it nearly hit her.

She stopped just in time to avoid being hit, but this finally did seem to shock her for at least a few seconds. She turned and went to talk to whoever opened the door that nearly hit her...

Professor of neuroscience Dr. Cassidy sat on his couch in his apartment sipping his hot tea and honey. He smiled as he took a sip, enjoying the feeling of the hot liquid warming his thin, feminine body. He seemed to get colder now ever since that day. Odd that she'd still ended up "volunteering". The idea was to hit her with the door and then grab her but her indignation at nearly being hit worked out far better. She willing walked into the place and from there it was easy. Now that his head was attached to her body he could now continue his work for much longer.

Not only that, he thought with a smile, he now had a new subject for additional tests. While his body was now incinerated, her head was still very much alive, attached to a machine with various mechanical arms and sensors and speakers. She would be a perfect subject to see what a human brain could do with the right man/machine interface, and, he thought with a smile as he took another sip, he'd be very excited to see what she could do!
