A little dark.

Donald walked fast, as fast as he thought he could without tripping and breaking something. He had to be careful and each step felt more like a calculated risk than anything he was used to. Damn, he thought, how did women learn to walk in these, much less have any sort of quick pace?

This thought, he knew in the back of his mind, was mostly to keep him from thinking about what he just saw and went through. That strange medical room. Those faces behind surgical masks. That woman standing there, her face smiling as she felt around the stitches that joined her neck to his body, the movements of his former hand demure and feminine.

He didn't ask questions. He didn't know if she wanted this or if she was just embracing it, or if she was so much in shock that she didn't know what was going on, he didn't really care. All he knew was that he needed to get away from this place and these people. He could worry about the things he was feeling and the sights he had already seen of his new body. None of that mattered. He just needed to go as fast as he could.
