A dark caption.
Paul and his wife Lily had just gotten home from church. It was their second Sunday since the accident. Both had been a bit apprehensive about going. While most had been either kind or neutral, there were a few, always a few who seemed to need church more than most who did not show the same kindness or charity one should, especially in a house of worship.
Lucky for them, it went much better than the last time, though she did have her hate turned down throughout most of the service.
Paul had to hand it to her, she held it together and did so with grace and feminine dignity. She was polite, understanding, and very much the example of any woman who found themself in such a situation.
Still, he could hear the whispers, whether it would heal right, if she would have a scar, how that would affect her beauty and he tried to dismiss that as idle chatter. The thing was, he held those same fears. What if she did have a bad scar? How would he feel about that? About her?
He put those thoughts aside as they drove home, and letting her out by the front door before parking at the garage they had built just a year prior.
As he parked, Samuel scowled, but only for a second. These heels were starting to hurt his feminine feet and he wondered how women get so used to them. He put that thought aside and smiled a warm smile once he saw the car was parked.
Lily had been easy. Very predictable, very polite and demure, and that polite accommodation was what allowed Dr. Bronn to get her into that "shop". Lily walked in on those cute white high heels, but it was Dr. Bronn who walked out in them. Now he was the perfect wife, so demure and feminine, and he intended to keep it that way. He had worked out to perfect his surgery and find the perfect body for his new life, and he had no plans of ruining that now.
