A dark caption.
Elizabeth Daniels was getting more and more nervous as she walked. She tried to calm herself down, but all it seems to do was make her more aware of the cause of her anxiety.
As she walked, careful on the sidewalk due to the rain her and heels, she wondered how it ever got to this point. How did her company condone such a thing? Was it really just about profit? Was it really just about stock prices and big bonuses?
Well, she thought, trying to steel herself for what she had to do, she at least was doing the right thing. These files would get out and those experiments and their horrific results would see the light of day. Just two more blocks until she got into the office for the largest newspaper in the city. Then she'd be safe.
She never got there, Arnold thought with a grim satisfaction. Hell, he thought, she never even got to the block the building was at. She had to stop for traffic and when she did, the vehicle that had been following her the whole time swooped in and grabbed her.. Those files, along with all of her knowledge, was nothing more than ash now.
As for him, he did enjoy the bonus with them getting rid of the only part of her that needed getting rid of and was he now had her body below his neck. It was both a reward for his service and a warning to others. They'd never say it was her body, they'd never confirm her fate but they'd notice she was gone and one would have to be blind not to notice the how he looked and the outfits he was now dressed in. Plus, when they launched the product line with the sanitized research findings he could claim he was part of that test group and the reports would fully back that up.
He smiled as he walked. Not bad for a day's work.
