Strange, Mr. Hollis thought as he stood there, not one woman interviewee has made it past the front entrance. They get in, stop, and immediately turn around! I wonder...

...Why, he thought, his realization hitting him. He should have realized this from the very start, no, even before the interviews were being scheduled, that it was him that was dissuading women from walking any further. Now that he thought about it, he could not blame them one bit. They see him, his old, wrinkled face and below that the body of a much younger woman with fresh stitches, no wonder they didn't want to take another step in!

He shook his head at his own lack of awareness, annoyed he had created this situation. They had no way of knowing this was all on the level, that his head transplant was completely legal and ethical.

He shrugged to himself and went to the phone, asking for someone else to greet the next batch of interviewees. He'd be working and resting his feet. He'd been standing in these damn heels for two hours, two hours that he now realized were futilely wasted.

Now he knew, he thought angrily to himself. At least now he realized it before the whole day was wasted. That was something at least.
