A dark caption.

"Do you want to drive?" Nolan asked his wife Kara.

"No, not yet. I'm still a little lightheaded, and for whatever reason, I don't trust myself to do it in heels."

"Your coordination has been off." He pointed out.

"You get grabbed and have someone slice through a bit of the front of your skull and see how you feel after."

Nolan stopped, and he got a sympathetic look.

"Sorry, Kara." He said softly.
"No, I'm not mad. Just, remember that it's not going to be easy for a while. Between the physical and emotional, it's just a lot, you know?"

"I don't, not one bit, but I believe you. Okay, I'll drive."

"Thanks, Nolan."

Both got into the car and as they started to pull away, Kara put a hand on his thigh.

"You've been so wonderful with all of this. I know how hard this is. The memory loss, the weird coordination things."

"At least I have you." He said, putting a hand on hers for a brief moment before putting it back on the steering wheel.

If Nolan hadn't been paying attention, he would have seen the slightest of evil smile flick across Kara's face. Kara, that decent, kind woman who just happened to be at the wrong place at the right time. Too bad for her, Dr. Young thought as he adjusted his shirt slightly, but her body was too perfect for his experiment and now that he had been in her body for a couple of weeks he had no intention of ever giving it up. He'd figure out a way to continue his research despite her husband and despite his new body. One thing he did need to do first, though, was get rid of his old body. That would need to be done soon, that life support would not last much longer. As for Kara, kind Kara? Well, her brain was nice and safe in a jar attached to a life support machine. He did think of getting her a new body, but maybe, just maybe, he'd keep her around like this. After all, what respectable mad scientist doesn't have a brain in a jar?
