While the tone seems light at first, this one gets dark at the end.

Dr. Hawkins sat there, listening to her complain. He was almost an observer on all of this, and he was supposed to be the one to figuring out what she wanted to do in regards to her medical condition.

Susan Miller had been dealing with headaches the last few weeks and while that would tend to put most people in a bad mood, he doubted that her mood was primarily caused by these new headaches. He could honestly not guess when he had a patient act in such an annoyed and condescending manner before. What was worse was she was demanding that he do something right then and there, which was absolutely not how it was supposed to work.

"No, I won't come back for more tests!" She said, almost in the manner akin to a small child being asked to pick up their toys. "I want you to figure this out! That's why we pay you!"

"That is not how..."

"I don't want to hear it!" She snapped at him. "Do something useful, will you? God, where the hell did you get your degree?"

Okay, he thought, she was done.

"You know what?" He said with a smile. "We have a neurology department that I think can help."

"Why the hell didn't you say that before, you incompetent?" She sneered.

"Oh, don't worry." He said with a smile. "They'll be happy to help."

"Is this real?" Alfred said, unable to contain his surprise. His look of shock belayed his true feelings. He was happy about this, but in complete disbelief about how this came to be. He was just supposed to be talking to them about getting involved in the new testing and now here he was, his head attached to the body of a very attractive woman!

"Do you like it?" Dr. Hawkins asked. "I thought you might. I knew they were looking for test subjects and was able to find someone that would be suitable."

"Suitable? Like she was a volunteer? Or did they have to use a brain-dead subject?"

Dr. Hawkins smiled and put a hand on Alfred's feminine shoulder.

"A bit of both. I can say for sure there was very little in the way of brain activity when I saw her and I know for sure there isn't any now!"
