"Do you like the new office, Daniel?" Sara asked him.

"The office is nice." He had to admit at least that. "It would be much nicer with my old body. You know, the one I had when I started working here? The tall, lean, male one?"

"I know you're unhappy about the arrangement." She started. "But I want you to figure this into your understanding of the situation. See, Daniel, you've shown how committed you are to this company, and the executives appreciate that. In five years or so, I expect you to count your ranks as an executive, and all it took was a bit of a sacrifice."

"I lost my body and my head is attached to another co-workers body!"

"Yes, that was due to the fleeting opportunity I provided for you, a 'creative solution' if you will. I will say you do have a good sense of women's business fashion. Simple, conventional, but feminine still. Anyway, I think you'll agree that corporate-wise you are very well situated, which is all I can realistically hope to assist you with."

He just looked at her. He had no idea what to say to her. Was she deliberately missing the bigger point here? He then realized that deliberate or not, he was now stuck like this for the foreseeable future and he did need her as a useful ally, so...

"Corporate-wise, yes, I am very set up. I think I'll get it set up to my liking while I have some time."

"I would expect nothing else. Well, if there is nothing else, I must be off. Good luck, but I doubt you'll need it."

As she walked out, he had to just take a moment. He really wasn't sure what she meant by that last sentence. Maybe he was just reading into things, he thought. He needed to get set up. He had a very interesting work week ahead of him.
