Lacy had put an ad about a possible trade. A good body, nice lines, classic style, a great ride, just inquire with her during the morning hours.
Phil thought that sounded great. He was looking for a vintage car, and this sounded right up his alley.
He got to her place, calling first to make sure she was home. She would be, she said, and she warned him that her appearance might be a bit of a surprise, but everything was fine. He wondered about that as he saw the garage door open.
There was the car, all beautiful and classic, and there she was. He wondered for a brief second why she mentioned her appearance, but he guessed it was due to her bald head. He shrugged. Not his place to ask, and that was neither here or there when it came to coming to a deal for this car. He walked over to her.
"You like it?" She asked.
He smiled as he looked at her and then at the car, then back at her.
"I do. I think it'll be perfect for me. Everything run right?"
"Just had a full check-up. Perfectly fine."
Check-up? He smiled a bit on that, but he guessed she meant inspection. Probably a slip of the tongue.
"So, what's your price?" He asked. "I would love to leave with it today if I could."
"I was hoping you'd say that. How about this, one-for-one?"
At that, he stopped. Huh?
"I don't have a classic to trade."
"I didn't ask for one, did I?" She smiled warmly. "What do you say? Yours for mine?"
That was the easiest decision he had ever made.
"Deal." He said, extending his hand. She shook his hand and as she did, he felt a pinch. He looked down to see a dot of blood on his hand, and he started to feel faint as she closed the garage door.
He waved at her as she pulled up, and he noticed the satisfied smile on her face. He knew what she had been doing. As she got out of her classic car, he walked over to her.
"So, your 'test drive'...."
"I think I'm going to keep it." She said with a laugh.
At that, he sighed. She had tricked him, and had done a very good job at it. He wasn't even really mad, mostly because it was still too unreal for him to actually know how to feel. He did have one question, though, something he was wondering.
"You hair, that was a part of this?"
"Yep. While they said they'd be able to keep my hair held back during the procedure, I just didn't trust it. Besides, bald can be a good look on some men, and now I get to see if it works for me!"
