Wilson smiled and waved at the old man in the impeccably tailored black suit as he got closer. The man sped up, though still at a walk and soon he was standing in front of Wilson, looking down at him.
Looking down my cleavage, Wilson noticed, amused and annoyed that his friend wasn't making eye contact at all. Of course, he thought, would he do anything different if the situation was reversed? He hoped he would, but he knew better of himself.
His friend then sat down, a smile on his elderly face. If one were to see them with their bodies obstructed from view, it would just be two old friends smiling and looking at each other as they spoke. It was when one got a clear view that the situation somehow both stayed the same and dramatically changed,
Wilson turned his chair, shifting his legs and adjusting his dress as he did, then feeling around the neck he wore with a soft, slender hand.
"You okay?" His friend asked.
"I am. I'm just self-conscious of the scar. Just a light thin line, so I wear necklaces like these, or a scarf or an ascot."
"You're concerned about the scar?" His friend asked, incredulous.
Wilson had to laugh good-naturedly at that,
"I guess that's fair, Rory, given how my head and my body don't match, but I can control who sees the scar. I can't do too much about the rest, and I don't even try, there's no point, it's far too obvious. I know it is a little thing, but it is a little thing in my power."
"I guess that's true." Rory admitted. "You haven't had much control over anything else. That bad medicine, the emergency surgery..."
"The head transplant, let's call it what it is."
"Yes the head transplant." Rory said, uncomfortable at even saying it. "All that. Though, speaking of control, your outfit, it is very nice. Good lines."
Wilson laughed at that.
"I knew you wouldn't object to it. Feels weird, but I do like how I look. Remember when we used to chase women who looked like this?"
"Remember when we tried to chase women who looked like that?" Rory said, grinning and chuckling. "I don't recall either of us getting a woman who looked as good as you are now."
"Maybe I prefer to remember the, uh, optimistic view of our past." Wilson said. "So, since you claim we never had a woman this lovely, why don't we correct that now, yes?"
Wilson stood up, putting his arm out. Rory stood and happily took Wilson's arm.
"Where to?" Rory asked.
"Wherever you lead. Show a mostly cute woman a good time out!"
