"You didn't do this to Nancy, did you?" Marcy asked.

"No, of course not!" James said with a smile. "She did it to herself. I warned her not to push the button to the machine. I told her to get away. I tried to stop her, but now, well, we both know it's too late for anything now. I have her body for good now and she has mine."

As James smiled, looking at his new body in the mirror, hands on feminine hips, Marcy knew that it was all completely true yet also very misleading. She knew Nancy could not resist messing with things, no matter the risk, and she knew that James knew that as well. She also knew that James had access to that machine. All James had to do was leave it somewhere telling everyone not to mess with it and Nancy, foolish Nancy, she would be on it like a wino to a five liter box.

Whether or not he warned everyone, whether or not he was clear in his commands and instructions, Marcy knew that didn't matter. James knew what Nancy would do, and that was what mattered to her.
