A dark caption.
Nurse Janet Robinson was halfway through her shift and was checking rooms. It was mostly routine tonight, there wasn't much activity on her floor, and she was glad for it. She was still getting used to being an RN and while she had done well in school and her training doing it as a full-time job still hit a bit different for her. She knew she would get used to it but her inexperience weighed on her so she felt obliged to be as careful and thoughtful as she could be.
So, when she saw a door that was cracked open that shouldn't have been, she went to investigate. It was along her route, but it the orders for that door was explicit, it was to be locked at all times. Odd, but that was just this place. Hell, she was wearing on old-style nurse's outfit instead of scrubs, so a locked door wasn't, to her at least, too strange.
She went to close it, but a moan caused her to stop. She should at least check up on the patient while she was there. If she didn't and something had happened while that door was unlocked, she didn't know if she would be blamed or not.
She opened the door fully and when the light him the patient she just stood there, staring, her body frozen and her mind in a full panic. She saw the old face and head, then saw the stitches around the neck, then saw the short, feminine body covered only by a hospital gown. Two large mounds graced that slender chest, and she could see the pink nail polish on soft fingers. She went to close the door, her heart racing, her mind flailing at what she just saw.
She turned to walk away and she had been so focused on what she was seeing in the room she hadn't realized that a doctor was now behind her. He ran right into him and couldn't even muster a scream, she was so overwhelmed. He simply smiled and jabbed her with a syringe, leading her onto a gurney.
"Too bad for you. You had potential."
The next day, Dr. Howard smiled and congratulated his latest patient.
"The surgery was fully successful. In fact, we've perfected it and you're the first to use the perfected procedure. You are free to go."
"Thank you, doctor." The man said. "I understand that it was on short notice."
"Oh yes. A suitable donor had become available. You know how it is with these things."
He didn't, but the man played along, and after a moment more of talk, the man and the doctor parted ways.
The doctor smiled, happy at his work, looking back for a moment as the man walked away. That body was so nice, and with those stockings on... well, if he wanted them pulled up all the way, he could adjust them himself, the doctor thought. Maybe he likes the look of it that way. The nurse had them pulled up all the way, but she had a dress code to maintain and this man, well, not so much!
