Marie was a dancer and while her style was certainly sensual, what she did was more along the line of burlesque. Her style was bawdy, sexy, suggestive, but never would someone confuse the shows she was in with those of a strip strip or a nude bar.
So, during one number, she was performing a move, a dance move she had done hundreds of times before. What hadn't happened before was there was a small leak from the roof that started, one that no one had seen until her heel caught it at the wrong time. She fell off of the stage, hitting her head hard.
She was taken to the hospital and she was told it was likely just a concussion, nothing more. They would though, run some tests to see. During one, she felt faint, and she passed out.
Daniel woke up after his surgery, having come in for his appendix. He woke up quickly, odd since he normally was slow coming to after every other surgery he's ever had and he instantly realized something was very off.
There were no blankets to take off and the second he opened his eyes and looked down his eyes immediately confirmed what he was feeling, that this wasn't his body! He looked like some old-school pin-up!
He was sitting up, his hands to his side, partly to steady himself and partly because he didn't want to be feeling his new body up if someone came in, which was exactly what happened just a moment later. The doctor and a nurse walked in.
"Doc..." He started.
"Ah, Mr. Murray, I see you're awake. Good. Now, I'm not going to ask how you're feeling, as I am sure you have a lot of questions yourself. I will say this first. No, this isn't your body. See, your appendix ended up bursting, you ended up waiting too long to get it checked, but a woman came in after a fall, and, to be short, her fall damaged a blood vessel in her brain. So, to save your life, we ended up doing this. Had she had a slightly different fall, you would not be here right now. A know that's a lot to take in, but it was a twist of unique fate that allowed us to save your life."
"Anyway..." The doctor went on, but Daniel didn't hear a word. A twist of fate brought this? As he sat there, face neutral as the doctor continued to speak, Daniel could not believe this. God, he thought, what now?
