She had gone to the old mansion as part of an underground party. It would be set up, they'd party for a night, and then pack up and leave. It was quick, fun, and best part there was an element of danger without it being too actually dangerous. A bit of a thrill without serious risk.
The asylum was perfect. Formerly a mansion, it was converted after the original family had died, some said under strange circumstances. It was then a home for the insane for decades, only closing down in the late seventies, bouncing around to various owners before seemingly be unused for the last several years.
She went to help set up, setting up a makeshift bar and getting the stuff ready. They had about a dozen people there right now and soon there'd be nearly a hundred.
As they set up, one person was tasked with setting up a generator and getting some lights they had brought up and ready. As they were getting those and the bar set up, she, seeing someone bringing in a box of liquor bottles, reflexively flicked a light switch, despite knowing that it wouldn't go on. Her amusement at herself turned to shock when she saw the light turn on, then she saw porch light turn on through the windows, then another light.
Oh no. All of them stopped. This place shouldn't have power. Something was wrong. They started to pack up quickly, but when they tried the door, the found it locked. A strange smell filled the room, and at that point, none of them had a chance to escape. One by one each fell unconscious to gas.
It was just a little later in the evening when the old man decided to take a stroll outside the grounds of his house. He smiled darkly to himself as he walked, ignoring the pain around his neck. He knew not to scratch or feel at it, grateful the collar she had on was perfect for both keeping his hands away from and also hiding the stitches that encircled his neck.
He'd check back in a little bit to see how the progress was going. So far, fix of the twelve intruders had their much younger bodies "voluntarily donated" to older gentlemen he knew, people who paid excellent money for a change to be younger and healthy again.
He turned and looked at that porch light. That was the signal. After that their fates were all sealed, and by the end of tonight he'd be a wealthy woman!
