Monica jumped onto the bed and almost against the wall of her bedroom. Her more even expression did not convey the shock she was feeling at that moment.

There was Suzie's body. Right height, right build, right skin tone, and that dress was a favorite of Suzie's for when she wanted something cute but a bit bold.

However, Monica realized with growing horror, that was certainly not her head! Attached to her neck was the head of some old man who seemed pretty pleased with himself. He had this smile, the demeanor about him that unnerved her almost more than the thing that should have unnerved her the most, his head attached to her friend's body.

It was a moment before either of them moved or spoke, and he made the first move, turning away from her and looking at a mirror she had on her closet door. He smiled at his reflection, putting a womanly hand on a feminine hip. He then spoke in Suzie's voice, which, somehow was the worst part of this.

"Suzie can't make it today. A bit of a mix-up, shall we say, at the hospital. She walked into the wrong waiting room and before anyone realized she wasn't a volunteer... well, I guess that sort of thing can happen, can't it? Anyway, I saw you two were meeting up today on her phone, so I thought I'd go in her stead. Don't worry, she's alive and not an old man, but we can talk about that at lunch. I have a feeling you're going to want to hear everything I have to say."
