Charles walked to his step, deciding wear to put the lack-o-lantern he had carved earlier in the day. He stood there on his step, looking around and then, noticing that a person had stopped, obviously in shock at what she was seeing, Charles looked at her.

"Costume's not done yet." He said. She scurried away and he smiled slightly at that.

As he watched her go, he knew that she likely did not know what he meant by that. The dress, the heels, the hose, they were all the base for his witch costume for this year. He'd need to gather up the rest of the stuff for it, but after he decided on a spot.

He decided that right by the step was a good spot, and he carefully placed it then walked back up to his small porch, putting a soft hand against the column. He knew he looked strange and it had nothing to do with Halloween. He had to laugh at that. It wasn't his fault that the surgery was scheduled for mid-October, and that he'd be out of the hospital right about this time, was it? He wondered if he should hide the stitches around his neck, but he decided against it. He had a head transplant surgery, all ethical and above board, and besides, he could use it as part of his costume. Maybe spin it as a curse or something.

Anyway, he had a little time to decide while he was getting ready. Regardless of what he decided, he knew this was going to be a very interesting Halloween.
