Dr. Matsumoto walked away from his car, a smile on his face, but inwardly a bit apprehensive. He heard his heels on the floor, that now-familiar click-click that he had gotten used to over the last few months.

What a strange place to part, he thought. He knew that this area was likely never designed to be used this way, but still, it struck him as a weird arrangement.

Of course, he thought, nothing about this is exactly normal. His company was about to reveal a new secret project and they wanted to be as discreet and quiet about it as they could.

As he waked, he had to wonder, what could be so secret? The last secret project wasn't handled in this manner and that was human head transplants. He knew all about that one, he thought, looking down at himself with a grin. So, what was so secret that even something like what he volunteered for seemed almost open by comparison?

He didn't know, he thought as he walked toward the elevator, and as he saw the doors open, he was wondered if that should worry him.
