"Damn, finally!" Albert said as he got out of the back of the van. He got both feet to the pavement and started to walk, realizing just how strange he felt.
He looked down at himself and wondered if he felt stranger than he looked. He pondered that for just a second, deciding that stuff like that could wait.
He got to the sidewalk quickly and stood there, not caring if people saw him, not caring a bit what people thought. Obviously, when he was abducted, they were not doing it just for normal criminal activity. This, he realized, was some sort of strange experimentation, or at least he thought. He wondered who would do this, why they would, and even more important, why they would go about it this way. What was the reason for all of this? Was there a reason?
Inwardly, he shrugged, saw a nearby bar, walked in, and sat down. He found his money clip, put in this pocket obviously by whoever did this, and he took out a twenty and asked for a double whiskey. He could figure how the rest of this stuff tomorrow. His priorities had just temporarily shifted.
