Left deliberately ambiguous.
"Mr. Johnson?" Amber asked. "Uh, hi, are you here to see Mrs. Sullivan?"
"No, Amber, I'm not. Actually, you won't be seeing her face around here again. I'm replacing her as the new department head around here. I hope that's all right with you."
Amber nodded quickly, feeling a mixture of relief and apprehension. Mrs. Sullivan had been a very rough boss, toxic even and Amber was glad to see her gone. However...
"You're wondering about my appearance. That is not a question, mind you." He said, feeling the need to clarify.
"Why don't we talk about that another time, and I show you up to your new office?" Amber suggested, hoping he'd go away from that subject.
"Yes, actually, that would be more productive. Lead the way."
As she showed him up to his new office, she couldn't help but notice the outfit, his height, his build. She wasn't a fool, she knew that was his head on Mrs. Sullivan's body. She didn't ask why. She didn't really want to know why.
As she got to his office door and showed him inside, a thought struck her. When he finally bid her good-bye, the thought crystalized. Was it bad, she thought, that despite her extreme concern about how he got his body and Mrs. Sullivan's fate, she STILL preferred him over Mrs. Sullivan?
