"Oh god. Doctor." Nurse Parsons said, too shocked to do much else. That was Dr. Evers's head, and she had no idea whose body that was. She was sure of one thing and that was it was definitely not his own body.
"Evers, good evening." He said in his normal, polite, refined tone, which made the whole scene seem even more unreal to her. "I seem to find myself in a bit of a bind."
"A... a bind? You call this a bind?" She could barely stammer this out. She felt almost faint. God, where was his body. Oh god, where was HER head? Is she even alive?
"I apologize for this shock. I know little surprises you, so I know what it takes for something to have you so, uh, nonplussed. Is that the right word? It doesn't matter, nurse, someone has seen fit to graft my head onto this poor woman's body. If you would be so kind as to search..."
He was interrupted by a woman's scream, and both quickly found the source. They came upon a pale woman, the same skin tone as the doctor's body, and below her body was that of a fit, tall, tan man! She stood up, dressed in a tight white t-shirt, blue jeans, and work boots.
As the nurse helped the woman, the doctor spoke again.
"Nurse, please see to this woman's needs. I must be off. We have one more victim here and while I am not quite dressed for it, I do believe it is still my duty to find this gentlemen. I will be back shortly."
As he left. the woman was in hysterics and Nurse Evers had recovered enough to provide care for the woman. As she did, the pale woman looked at Nurse Evers.
"Nurse, what the fuck is going on?"
Nurse Evers smiled, then her expression turned. Not angry, not neutral, Nurse Evers wasn't sure what her face was conveying right now.
"Miss, truly, I have no idea."
