"You better mean the car when you say, 'afford the best'." Colin said, looking at his rich friend Alan.

"Of course I am." Alan said, clearly not meaning that. "Well, that donor body was not cheap, and neither was the surgery grafting your head onto it."

"I don't doubt it. But that doesn't mean I'm just going to hop into bed with you. Here's an idea, one that should have occurred to you before all of this. Why don't we go have a nice dinner? I'm buying. We talk, we drink, and we see how the night goes? That work?"

Alan stopped at that. He was clearly expecting more than that, but he realized now that his expectations had never been realistic. He nodded.

"I think I can do that. We're going to that burger place you eat at all the time? That hole in the wall?"

Colin laughed.

"Yep. Sometimes affording the best doesn't mean spending much money. Let's go."
