He heard his doctor's talk almost as if the volume was muted save for a few key words that led to his decision. A hundred thousand dollars. Not covered by insurance. Might not work. Possible second or third surgery. Possibly a lifetime of pain. No, he would find another way.

His search led him here and he was almost surprised that it really was a clinic and not a scam. He walked inside the small clinic. That was a week ago.

Now, here he was, walking toward a cab, feeling far better than what he had been before. No more back pain. No more lack of flexibility.
