Dr. Sayers stood behind Hector, letting him be the star of the presentation as she talked.

"So, Hector was admitted with multiple organ failure just a week ago. Five days ago the procedure was done, and here he is today in front of all of you as an example of what this new procedure can do."

"Hector," a man's voice asked. "How do you feel?"

He looked over at Dr. Sayers and she nodded. He wasn't sure how much he should speak.

"My neck hurts a little and my feet hurt more." He said with a laugh, pointing at his heels, eliciting a laugh from the people at the presentation. "But I'm fine otherwise."

Another question was raised, about how he felt about the surgery, and he answered honestly, admitting he was uncertain and still harbors some uncertainty. There were more questions for him, and several more for Dr. Sayers, though hers were mostly on the technical or cost side of things. Soon the presentation ended and after everyone was gone, Hector looked over at Dr. Sayers.

"How did I do?"

"Hector, you surpassed all of my hopes. Thank you again for agreeing to do this. It was a huge help for me."

"Thank you." He said, smiling at her. "You saved my life. I have years I wouldn't have had if you hadn't done this. I am very grateful to you."

"You're welcome, Hector." She said, doing her best to keep her face neutral, but she was touched by what he said.

"Just, one question."

"Yes?"

"Can we get out of here so I can change? I'm not really used to heels and pantyhose!"
