"Yes, I'm here to get the paperwork for the graduate application."
"Paperwork?" The receptionist asked. "Oh yeah, that's right, our system is having issues with the filing. Sure, let me grab the forms. What is your specialty?"
"Oh, neuroscience. I heard as well there is a certain project going along. I wonder if you know anything about it."
"All of our projects are listed, even with the system issues. It hasn't affected that."
"This one isn't." She insisted.
"Oh... that one." The receptionist said with a soft smile. "Tell you what, I'll leave these forms here and you can talk to the Doctor in charge of it. He's here, interviewing volunteers for the project. Room 317."
"Oh, thank you!" She said as she quickly walked down the hall to the room.
A couple of hours later, Doctor Verde was walking through a classroom, getting the hang of walking in these boots. As he walked around, he heard a knock on the door and saw the receptionist.
"So, our 'volunteer' worked perfectly, huh?"
"The timing was perfect. A last-minute addition. Alas, no procedure is perfect and they couldn't successfully transplant her head, but still, a half-success is still a success for something like this!"
