A dark caption.

She had always loved this bookstore. So many good books, so many old and obscure works that non one else seemed to have. She could walk the shelves for hours, finding rare treasures on each shelf as she wandered.

Today, she was walking in to see if they had a specific work and when she got inside, she noticed the clerk wasn't around. That wasn't unusual, he was probably off cleaning or stocking or putting things in order as he often did. What was odd though was that the door that was normally locked to their back area was open very slightly.

That door. It had never been opened when she had been there, and other patrons of the shop mention they had never seen anyone actually enter it or even open it. It was speculated they had their especially valuable and rare books in there for private collectors, but no one had ever seen inside of it.

Well, she would be the first. She boldly walked inside...

Not more than an hour later, Hiro walked away from the shop. That woman walking in was almost a problem. For his failure to lock up properly, he now had his head attached to her body, and her, well, he was glad he didn't share her fate.

As he waked away, he smiled to himself. He knew the price of failure and he had been counting on it. As for her, curiosity killed the cat and all that.
