Andrea drove up to the house, happy to be back home for winter break. She parked, then got out, stretching a little from the drive, feeling an ache in her leg as she did.

She gave her masculine thigh a quick rub where the twinge was, then closed the driver's door. She opened the trunk of her car, then grabbed the bags she brought home from college, mostly clothes and stuff she'd need.

As she did, she heard the door open and her dad walked outside, a smile on his face.

No matter how many times she saw it, it still surprised her, seeing him with her former body below his neck. Granted, she had his body under her neck now.

He walked over and smiled.

"Need a hand?"

"Sure, here." She said, giving him a couple of the lighter bags. He stopped a second, then had to laugh and grabbed them.

"You were expected the heavy ones?"

"Yes, and I'm glad you didn't." He said, taking them. He didn't have a coat or a jacket on, despite the cold temperature, just a woman's flannel shirt, black leggings, and black ankle boots. She smiled at that. He always used to tell her to dress warmer and now he was doing the same thing. As they got inside, she realized he noticed.

"I know what you're going to say." He said with a smile. "And, yes, now I get it. How you don't get very cold I'll never figure out."

"Just the way I am. You said mom didn't either."

"Yes, true." He said, putting her bags down and taking his ankle boots off. She took off her heavier winter boots. She was dressed more for the weather, a heavier coat, jeans, thicker gray socks, and a black sweater.

"Here, I'll take these up while you put your coat and boots away." He said, taking the smaller pieces of luggage up. She did notice that he carried it a bit better than she did when that was her body. Was he doing some strength training? She'd have to ask him.

She knew she was. She knew how much work he had to do, and knew if she didn't her older body would become out of shape. She was a regular, if surprising sight at the rec center on campus.

He came back down and, now that she was more situated, he gave her a hug, doing his best to do his normal hug despite his smaller frame. She hugged him back and had to giggle a little.

"How is work?" She asked.

"Fine," he said as they both went upstairs with more of her stuff. "I'm still not used to sitting so much. That part I don't like, so I've been hitting the gym."

"I was going to ask you about. Same. By the way, I'm lifting more than fit guys half my body's age. It is pretty funny, Dad."

"Good, just watch with my right thigh. It can crop up when you don't expect it."

"Yeah, I know." She said. She was glad he didn't see her rub it before he came outside.

"So, how are you doing with all this? I know we talk, but face-to-face we don't often get to."

"You know, I can't say I love it, but I'm adjusting. I'm just glad I'm still in college, people are used to seeing more stuff. Not this, but it is easier. How about work and, just, well, life for you?"

"It's been strange. Not bad, just strange. By the way, look at my face."

She looked at it. She did notice something, but she couldn't put her finger on it.

"My face is feminizing a little bit. Not a lot, but enough that people are noticing it just a bit less. I've also started to grow my hair out a little. How's shaving my face going?"

"Shaving what?" She laughed. He had to laugh at that as well. "No, it's fine, I do it everyday. I hate facial hair on me. I've not cut my hair or anything. Odd thing, my face hasn't really gotten more masculine, I don't think."

"Bad news..."

"It has?!" She said, a bit shocked.

"Just a tiny amount. Your features aren't as soft as they were. But, it sort of gives you more an elf look, so..."

She broke out into a wide grin at that.

"Good, actually. I like elven stuff. Remember in fantasy games, I always played an elf when I could?"

"I do, yes, and now you look a little bit more like one. People, though, they've been okay to you?"

"Yes, Dad. Trust me. I do get looks, I do get comments, but overall it's been more and more rare. That first week was rough as hell, though."

"Don't remind me." He admitted. "I can't imagine what you went through."

"Or you! How many pairs of pantyhose of mine did you rip your first week?"

"Four! By the way, I found out if I wear ankle boots or certain flats no one can tell. I hate it for work."

"I don't blame you. But, that pic you sent me..."

"Oh, yeah, I did say at work and that was just a week ago. That, I don't know, jeans or leggings didn't feel like they cut it for a date. She seemed to like it."

She and him put her stuff away as they talked and by the time he said that, they had just finished. Soon, they were back downstairs, him on the couch and her in the recliner. She saw him put his legs up and she sat back a little in the chair.

"What did you say her name was? Hanna?"

"Hanna, yes. We met at work, but work completely different departments. I wasn't sure if that was a good idea, but the first date went well, so we'll see. I had no plans for this, it just happened. You haven't mentioned anyone."

"About that..."

"You have someone?" He said hopefully.

"No, but, I know you're not going to like this, but I have had a few, uh, 'encounters'."

"You do need to be careful with that." He said, a bit upset at that. "I know you can take care of yourself, I still just worry about you. Granted, you can probably now handle anything far better than I can now, but still."

"I understand and I get it, Dad. Also, these weren't random, it was people I knew, just not actually dating."

"Oh okay. Still, sexually, be careful."

She noticed he didn't ask what gender. That was partly him, he tried to talk about sex as little as humanly possible, but also he just didn't care about the gender. He knew she was bi years ago and she had dated both men and women before. She doubted he expected that to change now.

"Oh, also Dad, I did talk to that professor."

"Oh?'" He said, now very curious. It was about what had happened to them, the head transplants.

"Yeah, he told me what the other professor told me."

"So, we're back to square one." He said with a frown. "Damn it. I was hoping you could get your body back."

"I know, Dad, but so far no one knows why this happened, only that we're not the only ones now."

"Yes, but someone has to know. There has to be a trail leading somewhere."

"There undoubtedly is, but who knows?" She asked. "No, we're in this for the long haul now. At least we're doing fine."

"I'm so glad for that. I was worried as hell for you, Andrea. What people would say, how they would treat you. I'm not happy with the assholes who've said stuff to you, but I'm glad people overall have been good to you. I wasn't worried much about me."

"I know, Dad." She said. "I know, but I was. You told me not to, but how couldn't I?"

"I, still, my concern is you first."

"Yeah, Dad."

They stopped talking a moment, both reflecting a little on the past weeks. However, it wasn't very long. Both had plenty of time to do that prior to this.

"Want to see that new series I was talking about?" Andrea asked

"The haunted house one?" He said.

"That's the one."

"Yes, definitely."

He soon had it up on the TV and both were enjoying some good scares. Despite everything, they still had each other.
