Mal: …. So, it was a about a year after clearing the area of the demons that the statues started having problems. The town started forming so in order to help keep people protected I asked the statues to form patrols. It was shortly thereafter that they started having problems. We would find them occasionally frozen in place and unresponsive. Sometimes I can remove the amulet and cast the spell again and that restores them, but I have a couple that even that doesn’t restore their movement. Once this started happening, I had a few tell me they wanted to take the amulets off and go back into stasis until I could figure it out. Naesala here was one of those. She was a mage back before she fell victim to the trap. I think she got depressed that she lost that in the transformation…

Ilyana: Oh, no… I take it that you haven’t found a way to reverse the effects of the trap then?

Mal: No. I’m getting desperate Ilyana. Mara has started locking up too. I…. Don’t want… CAN’T lose her too.
