“All right my pretty plastic mannequins, that's the last of you. I can't have you underfoot now that the remodel finally started on my new store.” Rachel said to the display figures in the room with her. “Its a shame I took two years to get the ball rolling expanding my business. Thanks to the thievery of my assistant manager. Isn't that right my little doll on a shelf?” She growled in anger at her ex assistant manager.
“Enough of that then. Once the store is done I'll have to decide who I'm going to use where.” Rachel mused. “Oh, well I have a few weeks before I have to make a decision.
“Numbers 1 through 4 and Doll 1 let me introduce you to your newest sisters, mannequins 5 and 6! Of all the people who answered my job posting for visual merchandisers these two were the ones I felt would best for the job. Don't they look lovely in those corsets ladies? I think they will work out best in the lingerie shop. Don't the rest of you think so?” She said with an evil smile, taunting the inanimate yet conscious display figures in front of her with the reality that they only exist to look pretty wearing the clothes Rachel's store sells, fiberglass and plastic effigies of the people they once were.
“Well, I have things to do and since I can't run both stores by myself I need to interview some people to actually hire so I'll leave you all to your own devices. Have fun ladies! Ta, Ta!” Rachel laughed as she turned the lights off and walked out, closing the door behind her, plunging the figures into darkness.
