The harsh sounds of breaking glass and shattering concrete preceded a slight, blue clad form bursting through the 5th story outer wall of an abandoned office building.  The form crashed down to earth hard and after a couple of bounces shakily scrambled to her feet.  Blue Pixie was NOT having a good day.

She went to a crouch and shook her head to try to clear the ringing in her ears and wiped her bloody and bruised lip with the back of her glove, blood trickled from her nose unnoticed as she scanned the area for her attacker.  She looked up to the hole she made as she was forcibly ejected from the building to see her assailant, the Titanium Baroness peering down at her with a sneer on her golden lips.  The Baroness calmly stepped off the building and her muscular chromed body landed on the ground five stories below as casually as a normal person would walk downstairs just a couple of feet in front of Pixie  She looked at Pixie with a look filled with murderous intent.

“Crap!  What am I going to do?  Last time I faced off against her I was no match for her!  Curia had to bail me out and stop her bank heist.”  Blue Pixie thought to herself, “Wait!!  Where’s Demon Queen??”  Pixie thought as she glanced around, checking her surroundings looking for her other foe while pressing a hidden button in her glove.

Almost as if summoned, the petite sorceress Demon Queen emerged from the hole in the building and descended and gracefully down with her leathery wings to hover a few feet from the ground, a gloating smile twisting her beautiful face.

“Give up now Pixie and accept the fact that you will soon enhance my statue galley with your presence!  You can’t win against the two of us!”  Demon Queen said in a haughty voice.

“Give up?  That might be the sensible thing to do but I’m not gonna give in to the likes of them.  Hopefully, I can hold out till my distress call gets answered.   Curia or Spectra aren’t too far away I hope…  I wonder if a leaping punch will hurt the Baroness?  Nothing else has...”  Pixie thought, trying to come up with a strategy that would help her hold out till help arrived.

“I…  I… will..”  Pixie stammered, mind made up on her course of action.

“Will surrender?  Of course you will!”  Demon Queen said in a triumphant voice.

“NEVER GIVE UP!!!”  PIxie shouted as she launched herself as hard as she could with her super strong legs and landed a mighty left hook on Titanium Baroness’ chin!!

The Baroness’s head violently snapped back as she was lifted off of her feet from the force of the blow as Pixie’s momentum carried her past.  Two of the Baroness’s teeth tumbled through the air.  The Demon Queen’s look of shock was priceless Pixie thought as she flew past.

Pixie landed about fifteen feet away from the Baroness’s prone form and turned to face her foes and assumed a ‘ready’ pose so she could press her attack before the Baroness could get back on her feet when a inky black ray struck Pixie on the chest.  She didn’t even get to register a look of shock on her face before she was completely paralyzed.  From the point of impact, radiating outward Pixie’s skin took on the look and feel of stone.

“Hey!  What’s going on?  I.  can’t.  Move!!  What is that I’m feeling from the point of impact?” Pixie wondered as she struggled as hard as she could but wasn’t able to even manage a twitch.

“Oh, no!!  Demon Queen said I would ‘enhance’ her gallery!  CRAP!!!  She’s turning me to stone!!!”  Pixie shouted mentally as the transformation quickly spread up her torso and down her legs.

“I feel….  Heavy.  I’m…  I’m not breathing any more!!   NO!”  PIxie briefly panicked as she lost the ability to breath, her chest solidifying, becoming unmoving stone.

A few seconds later the transformation engulfed her head, turning her vibrant blue eyes to featureless polished stone.  An inert stone statue now stood where the plucky heroine used to be.

“Ouch!  That BITCH!”  Baroness spat chrome red metallic blood, “She knocked out some of my teeth!  I’m going to smash her to bits for doing that!”  She said as she got to her feet and started stomping towards the statue.

“STOP!!”  Demon Queen roared in an otherworldly voice her small frame shouldn’t have been able to produce.  “You will do NO such thing.  She is MINE now!  Remember our agreement!”

The Baroness stopped, a foot or so from the Pixie statue and turned to look at the Demon Queen, eyes narrowed,  “....FINE!  She’s all yours!”  she grated.

Baroness turned back to the statue and got almost nose-to-nose to it and peered into its stone eyes, “Is she still in there?”  She asked.

“Oh, yes!  What point is it to have her in my gallery if she’s not aware of her captivity.  She can see and hear you.”  Demon Queen said in a smug voice.

“Hmm.  Good.  Blue Pixie, have fun gathering dust.”  Baroness said, then reached out and tore one of the gloves off of the statue and squeezed it into a tight ball, the sound of microelectronics cracking and breaking could be heard, “And don’t think any help is coming for you either, I just smashed the transponder in your glove.  Even if help arrives we will be long gone before they get here!”

Titanium Baroness then effortlessly picked the statue up and slung it over her shoulder and the pair of villains walked to the small airship they had hidden nearby, leaving Pixie’s glove with the ruined transponder in it behind.
