Chapter 2: Captive

I woke up some time later back in my cell, feeling like I had run a marathon. My body ached all over and I could still faintly feel the burning in my muscles that had caused me so much pain

before. I slowly pulled myself off of the bed and gingerly made my way to facilities and relieved myself and washed my hands. When I turned around to make my way bad to the bed I noticed the

plate full of food near the door. The plate was heaped full with a big lobster tail, a sirloin steak, steaming corn on the cobb and broccoli drizzled with melted butter. I stared at the food for a few

seconds debating wether or not I should starve myself in protest of my confinement. In the end I devoured the food, not realizing how hungry I was until I started eating. The food was good,

amazing even. It easily rivaled what one would order from a 5-star restaurant. My goal was still to try and escape and to do that I needed to keep my strength up right? Once I was done I washed

up again, curled up on the bed and fell back in to an exhaustion driven sleep.

I woke up sometime the next day. At least I assumed it was the next day as I had no clock or window to see what kind of time had passed. I looked at the door when my stomach rumbled in

protest of being empty and saw a plate with a cup of yogurt and some fresh fruit on it. As I was eating the food I started fiddling with the MP3 player built in to the wall. It had one type of music

on it, soft rock... That's going to get old quick I thought to my self. That was my routine for the what I estimate the next month or so. Get experimented on with whatever she was putting in my

veins, recover for a few days and be experimented on again. Every time she injected me with her concoction of chemicals it hurt just as bad as it did the first time. I made an attempt to get free

every time that damned gorilla came for me and every time I failed. Whatever she was doing to me it left me in a constant state of pain and exhaustion. One day some magazines were slid

through the food slot of the door. Either the mad scientist chick or her pet gorrilla must have noticed I was bored out of my mind and took a little pity on me. I rushed over and scooped the small

stack up and looked to see what I had. Every single one of them were woman’s' magazines... Cosmo, Womens Day, etc. etc. Now don't get me wrong, there is nothing inherently wrong with this,

but they held no interest for me. Would it be too much to ask for a Popular Science or a computer magazine? They got boring to me really, really quickly.

One day the gorilla came in and after a brief struggle from me placed the paralyzing device on my forehead and carried me once again to the lab. Things were different this time. This time I was

stripped naked, a breathing apparatus sealed to my face and I was lowered into a cylinder full of a viscous, blue gel after the paralyzing device was removed from my head.. I was totally

immobilized from the after effects of the device and the thickness of the gel. Through the gel I saw her move to the console that was built into the front of the cylinder and she started manipulating

the controls. The tube lit up with a light so bright I had to shut my eyes! My body started to tingle unbearably and it was getting worse! Fortunately I started to pass out right on the verge of it

being painful. As my eyes were closing with unconsciousness reaching out to engulf me in it's protective embrace, the cylinder I was in shuddered violently and I heard a muffled 'BOOM' through

the gel. The wall across from me shattered inward, pelting the cylinder with fragments of the wall and Captain Thunder and the Raven swooped in! The heroic duo charged in to the room as I

finally drifted unconscious.

When I woke up I could feel I was wrapped up in something. I opened my eyes and saw The Raven looking down at me with a concerned look with my head resting on her thigh and Captain

Thunder kneeling down next to me. It was what he said next that let me know something was very, VERY wrong.

“Are you alright miss?” He said with a worried look.

I stared dumbfounded at him as his question wormed its way through the fog of pain and exhaustion I was feeling and my answer quite simply was to pass out.
