An Evening with Doyle
Part 1- Hat Trick
Doyle walked out onto the stage in the same outfit he'd worn on the talk show. The only addition was a top hat awkwardly perched on his head.
"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to my show. Now, normally, you'd expect a magician to start with card tricks-" he snapped his fingers and a deck of cards appeared in his massive hand. "But this ain't a tiny theatre, and it ain't a gamblin' hall. And I know you ain't here for some tricks you'd see your uncle do at a family picnic." He bridged the deck, and sprayed all the cards into the audience, to some laughter.
"No, I know what you're here for- you all want to see the big tricks, like you saw on TV the other night. And, gentlemen- you want to see the sexy women. Maybe some of you ladies do, too, heh. So, I guess I better bring one out on stage. Avery- hey, Avery, where are you?"
Doyle looked around, scowling a bit in concentration. "Oh yeah. I remember now." He took off his hat and spun it, letting the audience see inside, then set it down on the table. He made a fake show of pulling up his already rolled-up sleeves, then reached inside the hat. As he removed his hand, another hand, smaller, feminine, was seen gripping it. He pulled. An arm followed. The hand released Doyle's and pointed down.
"Oh yeah, don't want a lady looking too awkward," Doyle reached down and whipped the cloth off the table from under the hat, then held it up to cover both the table and the hat for a moment. As he whisked it away, he revealed Avery, standing with her feet inside the hat, striking a pose. Doyle helped her down onto the stage and the audience applauded as they both took a short bow.
