Amber interrupted again. "Okay, I need a picture of that last one."

Thomas unplugged his smart phone from the charging station on the counter and showed her.

Amber scowled. "Not one of the assistant, one of you!"

Thomas smiled. "Oddly enough, there aren't any. Totally random, anomalous electrical interference during that finale."

Amber shook her head. "You expect me to believe that, BT?"

"Okay, wait, it's my turn for a question," my lovely wife Jesse interjected. "What's 'BT'? It's not your initials, but Amb calls you that, and Rick here remembers Robyn calling you that. And now that I think about it, Marisol's called you that on occasion."

Tom started, "Um-" before Amber broke in.

"It's 'Big Tom'... A nickname for-" She stopped and looked at Thomas. "You know, it might be easier for me to ask how many of the Magician's assistants you haven't slept with?"

Jesse shot me a look as if this was my fault. "Hey," I shrugged. "I had no idea what it meant either."

Tom looked wounded. "Amber, honestly- I told you about me and Mari. She's the only one. But she does like practical jokes- as Rick and Jesse here can attest."

"So you're saying Marisol told Robyn about your nickname for your junk, just so she could be part of a very exclusive in-joke during a magic trick?" Amber looked incredulous.

Jess hopped to Thomas' defense, "Amber, you haven't spent much time around Marisol, have you? Because that's exactly the sort of thing she'd do."

Thomas chuckled. "Yes- Amber, ask Jessie what Mari did to her and Rick on their anniversary. She wasn’t too pissed off with the payback, all things considered; she deserved it..."

"Okay, Tom, I believe you!" Amber smiled and put her hand on his. He turned his palm over and grasped hers back, gently. "But before I hear about their anniversary, I still need to hear about their engagement!"

"Oh right!" I startled, having been distracted by certain memories of a very tight purple corset. "Where were we?"

Amber laughed, "How’d Tom get out of his cat suit?" She nudged him with her elbow.

"Very quickly," he responded. "I really didn’t want to miss what was coming next."

I continued the story...
