Illusions From the Past: Before the Magician was famous<br />Part One- Getting Ahead of Yourself<br /><br />"Ladies and gentlemen- I have a brand new illusion for you tonight. May I have a volunteer from the audience to assist me?" The Magician looked out through the crowd, and saw a likely victim. "You, young lady. Rise." There was laughter as the woman stood up. "What's your name?" She responded, muted by her distance from the microphone.<br /><br />"Karen?" the Magician asked. She nodded. "Karen! Please step up onto the stage! Everybody give my lovely volunteer a round of applauds." The lady stepped up the steps, with the magician giving her a hand, and leading her to a stool.<br />"Please take a seat, Karen. And wave goodbye to the audience."<br />Karen chuckled and waved.<br />"Comfortable?" the Magician asked. She nodded.<br />"Good! Sleep." Karen's eyes immediately closed as if she were in a trance.
