The magician turned back towards the audience. "I presume some of you have seen the so called 'Dagger Head Box', where the assistant sticks her head in a box, which is then impaled with sharp blades? Well, we're not going to do that tonight. My biggest problem has always been that the box is far too large. It's absurd. No- tonight, with Karen's permission, I will present my take on the illusion. And it doesn't use a box."

The Magician reached into a basket behind the stool where Karen sat. "Instead, it uses this rather hard leather hood, so you can tell where her head is at all times." Karen remained in her trance. "Karen, are you ready to assist me?"

"Yes," she said, clearly, not moving her eyes.

The Magician pulled the hood over her head, and secured it with a padlock. "Now, Karen, this is going to be rather delicate, so please move your head as little as possible."
