The Blender
Robyn wheeled a blender on a small table out onto the stage, and the stage hand with the camera focused on it as the Magician placed the fairy-sized Marisol inside and put the lid on. Robyn looked up, "Oops- I forgot to plug it in." She pulled up an outlet cover on the stage and plugged in the blender, which instantly whirred to life, to the horrified gasps of the audience. Robyn stood up, shrieked, and fumbled at the buttons on the appliance until it stopped.
"Looks like you forgot to turn it off first, too," the Magician said coldly, as he regarded the red smear slowly dripping down the inside of the container.
Robyn cringed. "Sorry. I uh, I guess that kinda ruins this trick, doesn't it?"
The Magician looked up at her for a moment, then smiled. "Actually, no. I did have a backup plan. Laurel, if you're ready to join us again, could you bring out the alternate prop?"
Laurel came out onto the stage, now dressed in a silver miniskirt, covered with glittering fringes. She was pushing a large, cloth-covered object on a dolly, and brought it to the center of the stage. "Eww," she said, looking at the mess in the blender. "Glad I refused to do that last one." She unplugged the appliance, and plugged in another cord from the new prop, then wheeled the blender and the table off, grabbing the cloth and pulling it with her, to reveal the giant blender that had been concealed under it. The thick glass jar was about three or four feet high. The Magician locked the wheels on the dolly, and pried the lid off the top of the big jar. "Robyn, since Marisol is now unavailable, would you mind?"
The redhead turned pale. "Err... of course, I guess. um." She removed her heels, and let the Magician help her up. He lifted her over his head, and lowered her into the giant blender. Robyn crouched down, and rearranged herself so she could sit. Her legs and butt were tangled in the blades. The Magician closed the lid, and locked it in place.
"Well, at least Robyn demonstrated what happens to someone in a blender. Hopefully she won't show you what happens to someone in a large one- ladies and gentlemen, I'd prefer you not have to see that again. Anyway, I did say I'd show you another escape." From the opposite side of the stage that Laurel had wheeled the blender in from, Hitomi wheeled in a large, metal frame, made of two thick pieces of iron, each eight feet long and 12" wide. They crossed in an X at the center. Chains hung from eyehooks welded to the sides. Hitomi put her hands behind her and stood beside the frame.
"Some of you may know this as a St. Andrew's Cross, and if you do, you know what it's used for." the Magician said. "For those of you who didn't know, you'll want to have safe search turned on if you look it up on the internet later." There were amused chuckles from the audience. "Now, I was going to do this escape myself, but after Marisol's mishap, I have some paperwork I need to take care of. It shouldn't take long, but I think Hitomi will be happy to perform this escape- especially since it will be done without cover. She does take some pride in her work."
"Yes, sir," Hitomi said, nodding. She was dressed slightly more modestly this time, wearing a black sports bra, and thong style bottom. "I am ready if you are."
"Excellent, Hitomi. Let's get this started." Hitomi turned her back to the audience to stand facing the cross. There were some appreciative whistles. she half turned, smiled, and wiggled her ass a bit. The whistles turned to applauds as she bent over, placing her hands at the bottom of the X. She did a handstand and leaned back against the cross, spreading her legs. Laurel quickly emerged to help the Magician, as he shackled Hitomi's ankles to the top of the cross, and padlocked the shackles closed. Laurel and the Magician worked together to wrap chains at her knees, and lock them on both sides of the cross. They then used larger thigh cuffs, and secured Hitomi's legs to the cross. They repeated the process with her wrists, elbows, and upper arms, then brought four chains together between her breasts in an X, and secured them with a combination lock. The Magician fastened a final chain around her waist, as Laurel put a blindfold on Hitomi. They stepped back to examine their work. The athletic asian girl was securely held in place. Laurel left the stage.
"Now," the Magician explained, "The trick is for Hitomi to escape, not Robyn." Robyn knocked on the glass wall of her prison. "However, this large blender is on a timer. Once I press the start switch, it will count down five minutes- at which point it will-" he pressed in the large button marked liquify on the controls. "Now, hopefully before that time, either I'll manage to finish my paperwork, or Hitomi will escape and turn the blender off. Otherwise," he sighed. "More paperwork."
"Ready Hitomi?" He pushed the Start button. "Go!" A display on the front of the blender started counting down.
Hitomi started wriggling against her bonds immediately, curled her right hand together, and pulled it through the wrist shackle. She pushed against the chains at her elbow to give herself room to bend her arm, and ran her fingers through her hair, removing a bobby pin. She pulled harder, and bent her arm to her right shoulder, and started picking the lock on the chains. Meanwhile, Robyn watched Hitomi, and the counter, and she pushed a bit against the lid of the blender, which rocked the smallest amount.
The chain at Hitomi's shoulder dropped loose to hang from the eyebolt, and she wriggled her arm, sliding it through the chain at her elbow. She stuck the bobby pin in her mouth, and reached between her chest to start to work on the combination lock, spinning the dial back and forth.
At 2:35 left, the combination lock popped open, and the chains fell off Hitomi's chest. Robyn, in the blender, pushed hard on the lid, and managed to slide her hand out from under it, and tried to slide her fingers towards the lock, while Hitomi pulled the bobby pin from her mouth and reached over to unlock the shackle on her left wrist. At 1:45, she had freed both her arms, and was working on the chain at her waist.
Robyn looked at the time left on the count down, and mouthed something, but the glass blocked the sound. With forty-five seconds to go, Hitomi had finished the chains on both her legs, and pulled herself up to work on her right ankle. In just ten seconds, it was free, and she dangled from her left ankle. Suddenly, as she tried to pull herself up, she looked to the floor, and pulled the blindfold off- she had dropped the hair pin. She felt around with her right hand, unable to see it. Robyn banged hard on the glass as the timer reached ten seconds, and Hitomi looked at her apologetically, then reached up and tried to free her foot with her bare hands, pulling hard on the shackle, struggling.
Robyn tried to stand, pushed hard on the lid, and jammed her hand out from under, as the timer reached 0:01. Hitomi reached as far as she could towards the blender, but it was futile; she was just too far away. The count down changed to 0:00.
The giant blender whirred to life, and screams were heard from the audience, as the jar filled with red. Robyn's scream was unheard behind the glass, drowned out by the horrible crunching sounds from the blender as she was pulled into the liquid, and her hand was yanked back beneath the lid. Hitomi pulled again at her shackle and it finally popped loose, releasing her to land on her back with a thud. She twisted, and lunged across the stage to slam her hand on the off button, but it was too late- Robyn's hand had already vanished into the red slurry. The redhead had been completely liquified.
A stunned silence fell over the audience, as the Magician walked back onto the stage, carrying a piece of paper and the jar from the small blender. He surveyed the scene. "Well. Shit. More paperwork."
