For Christopher Kraus, it was just another ordinary day. A regular morning filled with passersby, grumpy faces on the subway, and the smell of pastries from the stall on the way to university.

He was, as usual, late for his lecture, buried in a cup of cooling coffee and cursing himself for last night’s session in the lab. The experiment with that suspicious liquid Professor Lange had handed him with the words, “Well, it's kind of a neurostimulator, but don’t drink too much,” had ended with Chris, of course, drinking all of it. For science, he’d decided at the time.

And now, less than a day later, he was walking through the city feeling a strange kind of discomfort.

It started with heat. He was sweating like he’d just run out of a sauna, and then...

— What the hell?! — he gasped, staggering and grabbing onto the wall of the nearest building as his body began to literally morph...
