It was an early sunny morning when I was about to wake up. Everything was as usual - I opened my eyes, a little dizzy from sleep, and got up. Today, my 32nd birthday, although I prefer not celebrating it, my mom always made something special, and this year she'd decided to go with a surprise birthday party. But she'd been very vague and didn't let me know a thing, so I had no idea what to expect.

"Wow, missed call" I thought, picking up my phone and reading the screen, but didn't care enough to find out who it was. Probably a wrong number. Instead it I just looked around my room.

"I've really been living here for almost 10 years," I thought, remembering the day I moved here. I wasn't really into the design and furniture of my room, but I wasn't sure whether to change anything, since it was just perfect, and besides, my mother worked on this design, and I didn't want to upset her. It didn’t even occur to me that this was my apartment and I could do whatever I wanted with it.

ring, ring the phone started ringing and I didn't bother to check who it was taking a deep breath, I picked up the phone.

"Good morning, Mr. Smith, this is the Department of Internal Affairs." said the man.

"Hello?" I responded, thinking that it's just a wrong number.

"Mr. Smith, please don't be nervous, but we need you to come in immediately, we have some things to discuss. It's about your birth records," the man said in a deep, serious tone. I'm still not sure why I didn't hang up, but instead, I just listened and said nothing. And in the end, he added: "We can't talk over the phone. Please come to the central building of the Ministry of the Interior at 15 am."

"Okay" I replied, and hung up the phone. "Well, this is strange, what can be the problem?" I thought, and tried not to worry about it. I had no plans for this day anyway, and so after eating the lunch prepared for me by the servants, I went there.

When I got there in my limousine, I met a serious, official-looking man waiting by the doors. He introduced himself, as one of the head administrators and opened the entrance door and invited me to follow him to a separate area away from most of the other people.

"Well, here I am," I said. "You said that you had things you want to talk to me about."
