Jake Stephenson was a 23 year old man living in Miami. For a long time he'd been unhappy, and thought that, if only he'd been born a woman, everything would be fine.
He kept his depression a secret, only discussing his feelings online with likeminded souls. It was on the internet that someone pointed him towards a site called BodySwap.com , a place where people unhappy with their lives could discuss with other people and fantasise about swapping places.

On BodySwap.com Jake got chatting to a 34 year old woman in Warsaw named Polina Stakowski. Polina was a housewife who bemoaned her boring life, she was also dismissive of her husband who, she claimed, was quite demanding and wouldn't let her make any decisions of her own. By contrast Jake hated his busy job as an office manager, and hated the fact that every day he had to make decisions, about work and about family. Even his friends were constantly asking for his advice.

BodySwap.com had a facility whereby two people could 'Bond' this would enable them to swap places if they wished hard enough. Jake presumed this was make-believe, although when it came time to wish he really did it wholeheartedly. Clearly so had Polina because after a moment of dizziness Jake suddenly found himself in Polina's body! He even spoke Polish!

He then discovered that Pauline hadn't quite been truthful about everything. For starters she was 6 months pregnant, and her husband Jacob was more controlling than she'd let on.

Jake has been here two weeks now and he desperately wants to go back to his old life. His new body has so many aches and pains, and the feeling of a baby growing inside him, which should be magical, feels like something out of a horror movie. And then there's Jacob. He isn't violent but he always wants his own way, from what they eat to what they watch on TV, to when they have sex, which is most nights. Sex with Jacob isn't awful, but it is uncomfortable.

Jake tried to get in touch with Polina in his body but she won't return his calls or emails, and he's found he can't log on to BodySwap.com anymore.

Maybe things will be different once the baby's born, maybe Jacob will relax control, maybe the sex will become more fun and less of a chore. He has to hope so because he knows he's stuck being Polina now.
