A conservative to the marrow of his bones and betrayed by his outdated ideal, Robert Swenson had difficulty accepting and accepting a new reality for him after being in the body of a young Muslim immigrant, Zulfiya, because of Alt Shift.
Who would have imagined that this would ever be possible, especially considering the fact that in the Senate Robert himself was one of the main supporters of closing the United States as much as possible from the influx of various kinds of migrants, especially from the Middle East. What can I say, his conservatism and outdated views betrayed him as an ardent racist and sexist in relation to the female sex in general, but of course he very carefully concealed this because of his ability to maneuver in the political arena.
But the fact remains, and after several weeks spent in the body of Zulfiya, having already proved to everyone who needs it that he is actually Senator Robert Svenson, he unexpectedly saw on the threshold of his mansion a special detachment of a special group for working with people subjected to Alt Shift.
It didn't matter to them that his wife and children and all the acquaintances claimed that Zulfiya, who lives in the house of Robert Swenson, is actually Robert. The law is the law and they did their duty responsibly. Even his connections and acquaintances from his political circles did not help. Everything was very strict, especially for such public people as Robert Swenson, in whose body there was now someone else, who was standing along with that detachment of people from the Alt Shift special group.
Robert was well aware of the upcoming law and what would happen to those who disobeyed the letter of the law. Conversion camps, disobedience and other newfangled words that soon became central to the lives of people like Robert and were called upon to take their new old places in life.
After the first shock from inspecting the small apartment in which Zulfiya lived with her husband Ibragim, Robert by hook or by crook tried to return back, but soon, having received the first warning, he realized that the only right decision was to adopt the law and follow it, which meant pretending to be that he was in fact Zulfiya - a young immigrant married to Ibrahim, who, fortunately for Robert, was also subjected to Alt Shift and in whose body was a young American woman, who also previously lived a completely different life and with a different family.
At that moment, Robert did not even suspect how close he was to deportation and conversion camps, but the mind prevailed. And despite the hatred for his new body, his new race and social status, Robert was forced to accept a new reality and a new body, trying to match the image of Zulfiya as much as possible, because inspectors from the special bureau watched him especially carefully because of his popularity as a politician and the fact that he has already managed to make noise in the press.
