The room was smoky and smelled of burning. Harry barely extinguished the time machine that was burning again after his next unsuccessful experiment. Having dispersed the smoke with a rag through the open window, he sat down on the sofa and desperately grabbed his head
- Again ... again! Failure again!
He repeated louder and louder, not caring that someone from the neighbors would hear him. Everyone knew that Harry was freaky, but no one knew that Harry was really a genius.
He again picked up the photo that lay next to him and held it with his palm.
- I'll get you out of there ... Be patient a little more, brother ...
If someone walked into the room and saw this, they would wonder why Harry behaves this way. At first, the person would have begun to empathize with Harry when he heard this. But then he would have looked at the photo and would have been very surprised if he made sure once again that Harry was just nuts.
The photo showed a smiling peasant woman in clothes from the 19th or 18th or 17th century. She stood with a broad smile with her leg thrown over the small mound next to her. In the background were ancient tools and stone walls. Everything looked like it was a photo from a medieval exhibition.
But only Harry knew what the photo was hiding. Every time he looked at this photo, he felt ashamed and disappointed in himself. Because only he is to blame for this. Only he knew that this photo was not taken at a medieval exhibition, but in fact in 1784. And in this photo was not just a girl, but his brother ... His brother, who was now officially missing for everyone.
On that fateful day, he invited his brother on a "fun" time travel. Firstly, it would have raised the authority in the eyes of his brother and he would finally stop considering him crazy when he was convinced that Harry was telling the truth about the time machine and his theory was correct. And secondly, he just wanted to make friends with his older brother, who in many ways replaced his father.
The principle of the machine was simple. The time machine sent to the past in random bodies. To return, it was enough just to press a button on the remote control, which the time traveler always had with him. Harry even inserted a camera into this remote to take pictures from the past.
When they took this funny photo for memory, finding themselves in the bodies of two peasant girls, they did not expect that there would be a nobleman nearby who would not understand anything and would order to whip two peasant women who were messing around.
Harry was just lucky. He managed to press the button when the guards tried to take this strange device from his hands. Lucky because the device was automatically destroyed if touched by anyone other than the time traveler. And his brother ... his brother watched in shock as instead of Harry's personality, the personality of a submissive peasant appeared in the girl, and how the remote control, which was taken from him, caught fire and self-destructed.
Harry only saw the remote set on fire after he was in his room watching his time machine smoke and realizing that his brother had not returned.
