After some time, Oliver stood tied up, his gaze directed downward. He tried to resist, but that for the first time that now he realized that these were some kind of perverted games and he had better show humility.
He looked down and repeated to himself that he was a businessman, that a serious and strong man who achieved a lot in this life. He told himself that these are all temporary difficulties that have happened before, only now they are different. He convinced himself that he would cope and tried to do as in business just according to the situation.
...
This went on day after day. Oliver fell into a trap from which he could not get out. Nobody believed him, and even when he could speak English with someone, everyone looked at him with surprise. Ines worked for Maris not so long ago, or rather, it was difficult to call it work, it was all illegal. But Maris kept her like other prostitutes in the hostel and did not give them documents. They could walk freely around the city and even communicate, but without documents, he could not even buy a ticket. Of course, he tried to contact his friends and family, but no one believed him. The man who ended up in Oliver's body convinced everyone that he was the real Oliver and no one doubted it.
After a while, Oliver began to learn Latvian, because it was very difficult to talk to anyone at all. He hated this body and this life that he received. Every day he woke up with the hope that everything would pass.
There was no official news announcement that an event such as the Great Shift had occurred. Few people knew about this and no one wanted to divulge information. Only in some places on the Internet it was possible to find information, but it was quickly removed by the special services and this event turned into the category of fake news in which only those who believe in conspiracy theories believe.
