Return to Prologue:  Jotaider Gaiden: Choose Your Own Adversary (Comm)[Fluff/CYOA]"Mikai! Don't go running off! Pace yourself!""Why? There's so much fun that we have to try out! Come on, Hiro! Just relax!""That doesn't mean you have to rush into- and she's gone."A loud sigh left the lips of one skunk-striped young woman, as she slowly rubbed her temples in response to her overly active partner's excitement and lack of restraint. She thought that it would've been a good idea to bring her out for a relaxing visit to an amusement park, but all that she got for her troubles was... The usual behavior that she had come to expect from her, really. Then again, that was why she had brought her here, wasn't it? She knew that Mikai had done a lot of hard work over the last little while. And since there happened to be a gap in attacks from Golden Freedom, that meant that they could breathe easy and just enjoy life for once.Still, it didn't mean that she had to just go running off like that when she had the opportunity. Imagine what would happen if she stumbled on a bunch of hidden Pawns that she had to power through while they were trying to just...A soft laugh echoed besides the skunk-haired woman, prompting her to glance to her side and look down at the slightly shorter black-haired woman that had accompanied them. "Miss Fushimi, your daughter...""Is a handful, I know. But I'm very glad that you've been doing everything you can to protect her, Hiro." The shorter woman, Mikai's dear Mother Kaoru, sighed softly as she looked towards the sandy-blonde girl that she loved above all else in the whole world. "I never realized that she had been putting herself at risk by being a heroine, and I didn't even think that I'd end up fighting her. But after everything was said and done, I feel... Relieved.""...I suppose you would feel relieved, knowing what kind of power she's got burning up inside of her." Hiro said, carefully adjusting her tie. "It's not easy to protect somebody like her. Much less accepting that I have to be protected by her as well. But... No matter how hard it is, I try. Because she showed me that she was going to try and do the same for me."Kaoru chuckled before softly jabbing the taller woman in the side. "It's not because of the power, Hiro. Not everything's about what we can and can't do." She chimed, all while smiling up at her. "It's because she has you. I was always worried about the kind of friends she kept close by, especially after she suddenly got that light back inside her eyes. But it turns out that she has a real angel protecting her."This made Hiro blush. "M-Miss Fushimi, what exactly makes you believe I'm an angel?" She muttered, all while trying to turn away from her. What was with this family and being able to hit her buttons? First Mikai bypassed her attempts to be distant and abrasive, and now her Mother decided to compliment her and call her an angel? What's next, they're going to marry her?!"Well, that's for you to know, isn't it?" Kaoru said, before grabbing ahold of Hiro's hand and softly squeezing it. "But, sincerely. Thank you for keeping my Mikai safe, Hiro. I don't know what I would've done if I were to lose her."Hiro tried her best to recover from her embarrassment, all while looking forward towards the girl that was still speeding around, all without waiting for them. "...I think that she would say the same, if I had been the one to stop you." She said, softly tightening her own grip around Kaoru's hand. "You mean a lot to her, Miss Fushimi. While she's been staying at my place, she's constantly talked about the ways that you've beaten her in the games you love, and how you try to be there for her. Even though you don't know what she's gotten herself into. So if she lost you... I'm not sure she would be able to stay the cheery little girl that she's always been.""Hearing that makes me really happy, Hiro." Kaoru's cheeks flushed a little as well. The thought of her daughter needing her as much as she needed her daughter... Ah, it was exactly what she needed to hear.Though that sweet smile and soft blush on her cheeks turned awfully cheeky for a few seconds as she chuckled. "Now, you best not put her to bed just yet. At least wait until she graduates, you hear?" Of course she was willing to let her daughter stay with Hiro for longer. The two were a great match for one another.Hiro's blush returned as she stammered and stuttered. Yes, it was clear to her. If she stayed too close to Mikai's Mother, she would genuinely try to pair them up. Not that... she was against that... But it wasn't what she needed to focus on right now!"Heeeey! The line for the teacups is short, come on! I wanna try them and see how fast they spin!" Mikai's voice cut through the air as she shouted towards both her Mother and her Partner. She was as impatient as she was quick, and the older ladies were being a little too slow for her liking.A soft chuckle forced its way out of both Hiro and Kaoru's lips as they had to shake their heads. That girl was what had brought them together, it wasn't right to keep her waiting.Besides, nothing was going to ruin this little perfect day of theirs...---"You don't usually call for one of these meetings, Lady D'Or. What's troubling you?"Meanwhile, far underground in the very depths of Mimoto, the four members of Golden Freedom sat inside of their hideout. All of them having gathered for a very particular and incredibly important purpose. Definitely so, considering the lack of a teasing and relaxed expression on their leader's face. The one that had raised her voice, Baroness Bat, was sitting right at her side. The other two members of Golden Freedom, King Cobra and General Spider, were each taking up their respective comfortable seats across from their leader. Though not without Cobra remaining as jittery and as hard to control as usual, as he idly leaned left and right and back and forth as he waited for their leader to spill the details."Well, it's not every day that I end up hearing about something beyond worrying." Lady D'Or said, all while carefully resting her hand on her cheek. "Infact, this development might just result in the need for us to completely restructure the way that we approach our plan to free everyone from the influence of Atlas Corp, as well as the lives that have chained them down.""Ouch. Sounds really boring. What's caused such a problem?" Cobra asked, having leaned so far to one side that he ended up falling over and leaning across the armrests of his chair instead of sitting straight up. "If it's a boy, you can just send me and I can go deal with it."Spider's veins popped slightly, especially as Cobra continued to be as reckless as he always was. Couldn't he give the boss the respect she deserved? "I can make sure that we have enough Pawns to counteract whatever they might learn, Lady D'Or. You just have to say the word.""Both of you, I don't think you quite understand." Bat had to be the voice of moderate reason, all while she looked to her dear D'Or. "It's more than just a simple problem that any one of us could take care of, isn't it? You wouldn't go through all of this if we could just go find the culprit and turn them to our side.""I would love if that was an option. But while I am privy to the details of what he has done, the culprit's location eludes me." D'Or explained, before carefully reaching into her furcoat as she pulled forth a sample page of a long report. "Cobra, Spider. Please read what's written on this page."Spider pulled her chair closer to the paper, while Cobra merely stretched and slithered across the floor since he didn't want to bother using his legs. And both of them reacted with some amount of shock. Spider more so, while Cobra started to drool. There were details that pertained to their personal lives. Somehow, someway, the culprit had managed to figure out their civilian identities. Which should be rather impossible, because unlike D'Or, they weren't brazen enough to interact with Atlas Corp on a daily basis. Nor were they the Principal of Mimoto Highschool, a position that was just as obvious and as volatile as the person behind all of the Pawn Syndrome treatments..."Who did this? I'm going to wring the life from his heart and make sure that he regrets ever putting pen to paper!" Spider shouted, the fury in her heart rushing out as she just couldn't control herself. There was no way that she was letting this become a reality."My my. If this ends up leaking, then I really won't have any responsibility any longer. But then I also can't keep an eye on those from a distance. Hmmmm..." The drool stopped pouring for a brief moment, as Cobra finally realized that maybe it wasn't a good thing to just accept these facts...Bat tapped the side of her armrest for a brief moment. "...D'Or, dear. What do we need to do?" As much as she would've enjoyed the sight of both Cobra and Spider in shock, it also filled her with a tinge of worry. Because ultimately, if this was allowed to pass... All of them would be in deep trouble."I can't say for sure." D'Or said, sighing softly. "But Kanzei's doing her best to investigate and find his location. After that... I would suggest that one of you head straight there and either capture him or convert him. Whichever leads this information to fall out of his hands. Failing that, any way of disabling him completely will suffice."Just as D'Or gave the scoop, a knock echoed out, and a golden-armored individual appeared in the doorframe leading out of the hideout. The Jõtaider allied with Golden Freedom, Kanzei, had returned. And judging by the look on her face, she wasn't too pleased with what she had found out...---"There... All done..."A sigh left a young man's lips as he slowly leaned back into his chair, which started to whine and creak as he put pressure on it. He really needed to give it a fresh squirt of oil to stop all that noise. Then again, when was the last time that he had truly taken care of things besides himself..?Albert Carter. An independent reporter that had come to Mimoto for the sake of a scoop. And in the process, he had discovered all about Golden Freedom. How they operated. How they made their move. How they infiltrated. Everything. He had picked up on all the tiny little details, and now... His magnum opus. The Golden Freedom Compendium. Detailing everything they've been up to. Detailing the finer points of their plans, as far as he's been able to interpret them. And most importantly, detailing their enemies and how they've been able to exploit the Villains' weaknesses...Now, what was he going to do with all of this information? Well... He could sell it. He was sure that there were people that would pay a hefty sum for this amount of data. And if not that, he could always just pawn it off to the authorities and they could do something with it from there. But... That didn't feel fulfilling. Not after everything he had seen.Albert sighed as he slowly sat up straight in his chair, and looked out through the window. "If only they would come by and visit. Then I could at least try to talk to them directly." He muttered, as he focused on the soft light of the sun trying to shine its way inside.Only for his eyes to widen as he realized what was standing outside...(To see the conclusion, keep an eye out for the respective versions of Choose Your Own Adversary)...

Premise: Cobra's the one that ends up visiting their little 'fan's abode, rewarding him for his obsession with a transformation into a loyal and personalized minion.
